Our Story in Number
Featured Programs twenty-eight
The Generation (G)ender program envisions gender-just and violence-free societies for young people. The project partnership was strategized to raise public support, advocate for responsive policies and laws, and strengthen civil society resilience as a way to contribute to gender justice and fight against gender-based violence. The project is implemented in Uganda through 3 consortium partners i.e. Centre for Health, Human Rights and Development (CEHURD), The Uganda Association of Women Lawyers (FIDA Uganda) and Reach A Hand Uganda with support from Sonke Gender Justice, Rutgers International and the Dutch ministry of foreign affairs.
The partnership addresses three key interrelated societal challenges: gender-based violence, the unequal division of care and women’s lack of access to civic space.

Is a complementary event to the girl's festival, it brings together young girls in school to participate in a soccer tournament, The tournament is one of the many channels we use to empower, celebrate, give a voice, challenge, uplift, inspire and advocate for the rights of the girl child in Uganda. The Tournament gives a platform for girls in secondary schools and universities to participate in a football tournament while also connecting them to networks that they can leverage to create a better environment for them to make greater decisions for their future, the platform uplifts talent for young girls and have them develop their skills further positioning themselves to take on brave actions in sports and celebrate brave contributions that girls and women have made towards the growth and development of sports in the country as a previously stereotyped activity in many cultures.
