Humphrey Nabimanya
Founder and Team Leader

Humphrey is a seasoned youth Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) advocate, leader, change agent and a presenter of a youth empowerment show on NBS Television, one of the leading local television stations in Uganda.

By founding Reach A Hand, Uganda (RAHU), Humphrey has created a movement of young advocates through a youth led and youth serving platform of 14 core team members and 160 volunteers (growing per year) under the Peer Educators Academy who by the end of 2015, had helped to directly reach over 600,256 males and 346,125 females within schools, carried out over 5000 Focused Group Discussions in over 70 schools, reached over 800,881 youth out of school through dialogues and outreaches, and over 400,000 young people on social and online media  on SRHR, youth empowerment and related issues.

Humphrey’s mission is to support  his peers  take control of their lives and present themselves in ways that inspires, impresses and spurs confidence in themselves and their peers under a platform where they have full opportunities to take part in the process of breaking barriers hindering  them from making informed choices in life regarding their SRHR.

Gilbert Beyamba
Chief of Staff

Gilbert is the all-round person at RAHU. With his fingers in all the pies, he oversees all the projects and activities and ensures smooth running with partners while managing the human resource. Gilbert brings an assortment of experience from his days at the Young Achievers’ Award, the Mara Foundation and at the Unreasonable East Africa Institute as the vice president of programming.

Daphne Asiimwe
Finance Manager

Daphne is all things finance at RAHU. A bachelor degree holder in commerce from Makerere University, she started out as a volunteer, benefiting from the capacity building grant by Rutgers. She handles the financial arm of RAHU, a brilliant young lady, Daphne is instrumental in the formulation of policies and implementation of various programs that have shaped the growth of RAHU as an organization.

Janet Kukundakwe
Finance Officer

Janet joined RAHU as a volunteer in June 2011 and was a part of the development of the initial strategic plan,mission and vision. She holds a Bachelor's’ degree in Development Economics and is currently the Finance officer at RAHU. Having taken part in the capacity building grant from Rutgers WPF in 2013 that professionalized the team, Janet ensures that the funds entrusted to Rahu to carry out activities are used as allocated by donors ensuring proper accountability of funds from donors.Janet is passionate about young people and loves to smile..

Bakshi AsumanManager Programs, SRHR & Implementation

Bakshi’s efficiency in handling tasks saw him heading the programs arm of RAHU. He is responsible for the different projects that are undertaken and the proper liaising with partners and third party organizations. Bakshi’s impressive knowledge on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights makes him the right man for this job as he is always up to date with the relevant information on SRHR, he took part in the capacity building grant from Rutgers in 2013 that professionalized the team,. Bakshi Joined RAHU in 2011 and was a part of the development of the initial strategic plan and policy formulation, mission and vision.

Maureen Andinda
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning

Maureen is tasked with aligning the program activities to the desired outcomes and overall impact created by RAHU in its target population. By sieving through a horde of data and information, Maureen makes critical analysis that informs future programming, partner collaborations and gives a “value for money” perspective of projects and campaigns run. When she’s not scrutinizing data, Maureen loves to talk and exchange ideas.

 

Sharon Banura Winyi - Partnership & Reputation Coordinator

Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations in Development Studies and Public Relations from United States International University-Africa. Has volunteered at different NGOs under the Communications department, Gender, Leadership and Governance, during this period she affirmed her passion for gender and development in our community and hopes to make an impact in this area.

Ibrahim Batambuze – Programs officer, Communications and Advocacy Officer

A holder of a bachelor’s degree in law from Uganda Christian University, he is passionate about human rights, advocacy, youth empowerment and communications. His love for writing perhaps made him join RAHU to spearhead the visibility of the organisation as the Communications and Advocacy Officer in charge of online and print media. He is responsible for raising awareness of RAHU’s work and to generate public support for its advocacy agenda; and increase RAHU’s visibility to its target audience.

Ibrahim Nkonge Programs officer, Communities and Schools

Ibrahim is a programs officer in charge of schools and communities, oversees our community work and supervises our peer educators as they go to schools to engage and reach out to students in peer to peer learning and focused group discussions about Sexual Reproductive Health. He is passionate about young people getting involved in issues affecting their communities and doing their best. It is his involvement in different campaigns in his local communities while as a volunteer at the Uganda Red Cross Society that has seen him join Reach A Hand Uganda as a team member.

 

Issa Buka
Finance Officer

Issa provides the vital links between Finance & Programming ensuring, in a supportive role, the effective management of financial transactions, budgetary parameters and partner expectations which ultimately translate strategies into actionable and quantitative plans. Overall, He acts as a resource across an organization to increase broad cohesion for strategic plans.

Faith Ainembabazi
Project Liaison Officer

Faith Ainembabazi is the RAHU Project Liaison officer in charge of handling the Young Achievers Award, a youth livelihood and entrepreneurship initiative. She is part of the team that handles Communication and partnership for the organisation. She is a Marketing and event management professional who has a MSc Marketing from Edinburgh Napier University and BA Business Administration (Finance) from Uganda Christian University. She is passionate about young people and the change that they can effect in society which is why she joined RAHU. She is an avid Arsenal supporter and is known as Walcott to the team.

Sylvester Nnyombi - Content Guru

Sylvester is part of our communications team responsible for crafting suitable and satisfactory content for our various online platforms ranging from but not limited to writing blogs, articles to generating social media content. He is a journalist by training, a part-time photographer, occasional blogger and an ardent rugby fanatic.

Amutuhaire Helen Patricia - Content Guru

Helen is another vibrant member of our communications team. A writer, editor and part time photographer, she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications at Makerere University. She is a dedicated team player, a passionate behaviour change communicator and an avid reader.
